Position Title: Construction Painting Crew Leader/Volunteer Site Manager Reports To : Director Of Construction & Director of Volunteers Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Crew Leader to oversee and coordinate our team builds. This role involves supervising and leading volunteer groups on-site, managing safety equipment and supplies, and ensuring effective communication with volunteers, homeowners and community stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of painting and landscaping and possess exceptional organizational and leadership skills. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership and Supervision: Supervise and lead volunteer groups during team builds, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. Provide hands-on guidance and instruction to volunteers, teaching them construction skills and best practices. Foster a positive, motivating environment that encourages teamwork and engagement. Safety Management: Oversee the use of safety equipment and ensure that all safety protocols are followed on-site. Conduct regular safety briefings and inspections to maintain a safe working environment. Supplies and Equipment Management: Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and safety equipment, ensuring that all items are in good working condition and readily available. Order and replenish supplies as needed. Homeowner Communication: Act as a liaison between the Habitat for Humanity team and homeowners, providing updates and addressing any concerns. Ensure that the needs and expectations of homeowners are communicated clearly and managed effectively. Painting and Landscaping: Apply basic painting and landscaping techniques to assist in completing home builds and beautification projects. Train and guide volunteers in these tasks to ensure high-quality results. Qualifications: Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a construction or volunteer-based environment. Basic knowledge of painting and landscaping techniques. Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to motivate and engage volunteers. A proactive, self-starter with a problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Attributes: Enthusiastic and passionate about the mission of Habitat for Humanity. Committed to promoting a positive and inclusive volunteer experience. Ability to handle physically demanding work and adapt to changing conditions on-site PHYSICAL DEMANDS Heavy lifting- Lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and repetitively. (For example, a 5 gallon bucket of paint) Must be physically able to lift with proper equipment, heavy items. Must be able to stand, squat, and bend. Must be able to climb on and off truck. MENTAL DEMANDS Problem-solving Decision-making Strategizing Dealing with stressful situation Communication with others Conceptualizing Driving Organizing WORK ENVIRONMENT Physically Demanding Exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.). WORK SCHEDULE 40 hours/week; Tuesday thru Saturday. Supervisor will schedule accordingly. This position requires working Saturdays. Days off are Sundays and Mondays.
